World Orienteering LAN Games
The 2007 World Orienteering LAN Games took place July 22-26 in Mjölby, Sweden at the annual
O-Ringen 5 days.
The tournament featured five days of competition in two classes: a Beginner class for
the casual CF player, and an Elite class for the experienced runners! Prizes were awarded daily for the Beginner
category, while the Elite category was ranked on all five races combined.
The races took place on five maps from the previous five O-Ringen years, generously allowed by the clubs listed:
- 2002 O-Ringen: Skövdeetappen (IF Hagen)
- 2003 O-Ringen: Uddevallaetappen (Uddevalla OK)
- 2004 O-Ringen: Partilleetappen (Sävedalens AIK)
- 2005 O-Ringen: Åsakabackarna (Jönköpings OK)
- 2006 O-Ringen: Olberget (Söderhamns OK)
The maps, converted to CF by Jari Williamsson, allowed some of the best virtual racing ever seen! Because of
the special nature of these maps, they were only allowed for the CF LAN, and never can be used in CF again. I hope
you didn't miss this exciting opportunity!

Special thanks to everyone that helped out to make the tournament a great success! All the crew in the photo at left:
Jari Williamsson, map-maker extraordinaire (bottom left); Jimmy Alenius, O-Ringen organization fiend (bottom center, in
blue); Biggins (the tall one hiding in the back); and the awesome students from the John Bauer Upper Secondary School
that helped run all the computers all week! Thanks all!
Training Map
A training map from the 2004 O-Ringen, Södra Biskopsgården (Tolereds AIK), was provided with several
courses. This map was converted to CF with the same style and format as the competition maps,
so it will give you a good feeling of what the competitions races featured.
